TIME

The measure of time is mans futile attempt to comprehend infinity.

While this measurement is somewhat responsible for keeping order in our world, It should be called something else. It has nothing to do with accurately recording events other then for our own purpose. Without knowing either the beginning or the end of time (at least one of these variables) our measurement of time is irrelevant to anyone that doesn't live on our planet. If the earth were to tumble off into space anyone finding the planet could not figure out our system of measurements which is based on the revolution of our planet around the Sun (an insignificant Sun in an insignificant solar system). Without the Earth's rotation around our Sun, a day, Month or Year would be meaningless. Without this data they would not have any Idea what a second or an hour was. Without having at least one reference to base our measurements on that has to do with actual time all our records are useless to anyone but us.

Off course none of this matters to most of us. Time, or at least our interpretation of the 4th dimension is a productive way for us to measure the events that shape our life. Only when it comes to the recording of our lives for future civilizations to interpret dose it become important.
